    Cote update
With everything that has been going on, I have forgotten to update on here, sorry for that.

The surgery was a success. Her lung has not bled for 3 days now, and she should be out of the hospital tomorrow morning. I called her and talked with her, that really lifted her spirits. Chatting with someone through facebook is nice, but actually hearing a friends voice is entirely different. She was so happy when I called(so was I of course, I miss her a lot). Her boyfriend sent me a message thanking me because he hadn't seen a smile that big on her face for a long time.

When she gets out, she can't lift anything, or walk that much for a while, but that is to be expected after something like this.

I cannot thank you all enough for all that you have done. It is very much appreciated.

    My friend in the hospital
I don't know why I didn't mention this before, but her name is Cote Ibarra Damiani. For those sending prayers, well wishes, energy, and anything else to help her, it might be better if you knew who it was you were sending them to. lol

She has had a little bit of improvement the past 24 hours. Her lung went 12 hours without bleeding, but then it started again. She has to go in for more surgery tomorrow morning.

    bad
Surgery didn't work. They found out she has severe Hemoptysis. I am trying to figure out what exactly that is. So far, all I know is that if it is mild, it is no big deal. If it is severe, well, that is exactly what it is. Not good.

    update
After 9 hours, she is out of surgery and is sleeping. Now they need to wait 24 hours to see if they were actually able to stop the bleeding. I really hope they did, she has been through enough.

    Friend in Surgery, continued
One of my friends from my high school class had surgery on Friday. She is bleeding internally, and they found out it was with her left lung. There was a complication, and she was in surgery for over 14 hours. She was in an induced coma and they couldn't stop the bleeding. They removed her from surgery, but were unable to stop the bleeding. They had her rest on Saturday. She came out of the coma in the afternoon, and was awake this evening.

I was able to chat with her for a few minutes on Facebook. That was a real nice feeling being able to talk with her again after that scary ordeal. I did my best to calm her down, she is really scared. She has to go in for surgery again in the morning. Hopefully they have done some research in the meantime and will finally be able to get the bleeding to stop. The surgery will be at 5am our time today (she now lives in Chile). I wish we lived closer so I could be at her side.

A huge thank you to all who have helped with prayer, well wishes, and all other forms of assistance in this matter. I ask that you please continue to do so.

    Update:

She is now out of surgery. Her vitals are very weak, so she is not out of the woods yet.

    Travel time!
I am going to visit England for a few days. I have always wanted to go there, and now I have the chance to do so. I will be leaving on Aug. 21st, and coming home Aug. 27th.

I spend more time on Facebook than on here, obviously given the lack of posts, and there is a game on there that I really like to play called Be A Tycoon(BAT.) It is a game in which you buy and sell items with fake money, like playing the stock market, but with less risk of bankruptcy.

Anyway, in BAT, you can join groups called cartels. These groups are mainly for socializing and helping each other out in the game. A lot of the cartels have been having cartel get togethers. So, like a lemming, my cartel is doing one too.

It just so happens that most of the members in my cartel (Mutiny Cartel if any of you who read this play the game) live in England, and that is where our meet up is taking place. Since I am the owner of the cartel, it would only make sense that I be there for it.

A couple from my cartel are letting me crash at their place while I am over there, which is really nice of them. One of them has that week off from work, so he will be my tour guide and take me around to places.

The only problem is that it will obviously cost a lot of money. Since I am staying at someone's house, I don't need to rent a hotel room, saving me a lot of money. So, it is costing me $800 for round trip airfare plus spending money. My grandfather is paying for half of the airfare, and has given me some spending money, which is really nice of him. SO to visit England for 5 days, it is costing me $400 plus spending money, which is a sweet deal in my opinion.

I understand I am taking a risk by doing this, seeing as how I will be in another country staying with people I only know through a Facebook app, but I am taking my chances that they aren't axe murderers. I am really excited about the trip, and hope to have a great time.

(main downer about the trip is that England has almost nothing but bitter beer, and I hate bitter beer)

Sad day for the North End area.
I don't know how many of you metro area peeps read the Pioneer Press, but there was a write-up in there today about St. Bernard's School.  At the end of the school year, the Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade will close, and St. Bernard's will only be a High School.  The school has been a staple of the North End for 118 years.

I am curious to know if they will also close the bowling alley...I don't think so, but still a deffinate possability.  They tend to do stupid things.

    Question
I don't want this to sound like I am whining, just curious.

How long does it take a bone bruise to heal?

I smashed the top digit of my pinkie at work on 2-28.  I thought I broke it at first, but there was no swelling.  I think I just bruised the bone.  It is still very sensitive.  I have a little brace for it, and am keeping protected most of the time.

Talked with boss lady tonight, and it ends up we had a big misunderstanding last night.  We do clock out when we actually get done.  So that settles that.

    Furnace fixed
It ends up that the main circuit in the unit had to be replaced. It would normally cost about $500 to get it replaced plus labor, but it cost us nothing. I don't know what kind of service plan my mom has, but it is great.

Works fine now. Not cold anymore.

    OK
Now the furnace is working on its own. Should we cancel the repair guy, or would it be better to have come out and check it anyway?
    4:31 pm
    Oh the fun...
The censor in our furnace is malfunctioning, meaning it rarely turns on on its own. If I flip the switch on it off then on again, it runs once for a couple minutes, then shuts off. But that is very boring doing that all day. Needless to say, it is cold in the house again. Excel Energy will be here tomorrow morning between 8 and noon.

On top of that, with the rain yesterday melting a great deal of the snow, there is a lot of water that has come into the basement. So I have been doing my best to get that soaked up and dried out. Definitely need to landscape the side of the house this year.

    A death in the family.
Most of the family got together this morning for a pancake breakfast at St. Patrick's Church. It was very yummy. After we were finished eating, my mom and I took my grandmother home. My mom walked her in and helped her get settled, then we took off.

A couple hours later, at around 12:30, my mom got a phone call. It was my grandfather, informing us that he just got home from working the pancake breakfast and found that my grandmother had passed away.

She was sitting in her favorite chair, with her feet crossed. From what we could tell, she passed away in her sleep, comfortable and relaxed. She was 90 years old, and died happy after a wonderful morning with the family.
